Mason hand-tuckpointing a brick wall

Pittsburgh · South Hills · Est. 2009

Old-world craft.
Modern reliability.

A small, third-generation masonry shop quietly restoring the brick and stone homes of Pittsburgh's South Hills — one carefully matched mortar joint at a time.

The Craft

Work meant to last a hundred years.

Most masonry failures aren't from age — they're from the wrong mortar, in the wrong joint, by someone in a hurry. We work in lime-based mixes matched to the original wall, hand-rake each joint, and only take on a small number of projects a year so every one gets the time it deserves.

  • Third-generation tradesmen

Trained at the side of grandfather and father.

  • Licensed & fully insured

    PA License PA204891. Workmanship guaranteed.

  • Select projects, full attention

We turn down more than we take on.

"Jonas repointed the front of our 1928 brick — the new joints are indistinguishable from the old. Quiet, careful, and on time."

— Margaret S., Mt. Lebanon

"Rebuilt our chimney from the roofline up. Explained every step, cleaned up like he was never there. Worth the wait."

— David R., Upper St. Clair

"We had three masons look at our foundation. Hammer & Trowel was the only one who actually understood the stonework."

— Priya K., Bethel Park
